Cabin Filter Machine FAT with Israeli Client

The Israeli client is a high-tech filtration solutions provider specializing in HVAC and automotive thermal management systems for both commercial and defense applications. Operating in a region with extreme desert conditions — high temperatures, pervasive dust, and sandstorms — their demand for high-efficiency cabin filters (especially multi-layer activated carbon and antimicrobial media) is critical. Their existing semi-automatic line struggled with:
  • Inconsistent edge banding on thick charcoal composite media
  • Manual trimming causing 4–5% visual reject rate
  • Slow mold changeovers (over 60 mins) between OEM and aftermarket sizes
  • Rising labor costs in the Tel Aviv tech corridor
They issued an RFQ for a fully automated آلة تصفية المقصورة with rapid changeover (under 30 mins), precise hot-melt gluing, and compliance with Israeli electrical standards (450 V / 50 Hz).

2. On-Site Verification (FAT) & Solution

Hengchao delivered a modular green-and-white aluminum-framed production line. During the FAT, two Israeli engineers visited the Hengchao facility for live testing:
  • Visual Inspection: The machine’s bright green enclosure with a circular observation window and warning tower light allowed the Israeli team to stand right beside the machine, closely monitoring the automatic cycle and safety interlocks.
  • Precision Debugging: While the clients observed from the side, the Hengchao engineer fine-tuned the internal glue dispensing and trimming mechanisms through the open panel. White trimmed edges visible on the green workshop floor proved the cutting station’s accuracy.
  • Key Stations: Servo pleating → Hot-melt frame bonding → Auto edge banding → Precision trimming.
  • Specs: Handles 150–400 mm lengths; cycle time ≤ 7 seconds/pc; compatible with standard non-woven, HEPA, and 3-layer activated carbon media.

3. Cooperation Process

  • Sample Testing: 600 pcs trial on desert-condition simulation media (charcoal + antimicrobial layer); shared Cpk data for edge alignment and glue bead consistency.
  • Factory Acceptance (FAT): Israeli engineers verified the 300×300 mm standard cabin filter running at 92% OEE. Hebrew-language HMI labels and 450 V / 50 Hz wiring (IEC 60204 compliant) confirmed on-site.
  • Compliance Pack: CE documentation, ISO 9001:2015 certificate, SGS report on media filtration efficiency, PLC backup, and spare parts list.
  • Commissioning: Shipped to Tel Aviv, 5-day on-site installation, plus hands-on training for local operators on pleating tension, glue temperature control, and mold change procedures.

4. Results & Feedback

  • كفاءة: Labor reduced from 7 to 2 operators/shift; reject rate dropped from 4.5% to 0.5%.
  • Flexibility: 25-min changeover between Mercedes-Benz Actros (commercial) and local armored vehicle filter sizes.
  • Durability: Line ran 24/7 for 3 months in simulated desert conditions with zero unplanned downtime.
  • Client Testimonial:
“Standing next to the Hengchao line during FAT, we were impressed by the precision and robust build. The green-framed machine handled our charcoal media flawlessly — no more edge delamination in sandstorm conditions. The Hebrew HMI and local voltage compatibility made integration seamless.”

5. Follow-up

After 6 months of stable running in their Tel Aviv plant, the client placed a second order for a standalone rotary pleater to upgrade their military-grade filter line, and is evaluating a PU-frame cabin filter module for 2027 EV thermal management projects.
